Moving on from the Playoffs the contestants aka artists move to the next round. Voice Australia Season 9 Showdowns Finale Spoilers News Recaps.
It’s confirmed that production will be filming the Grand Finale on Tuesday, with 4 possible endings. No-one knows who wins until they air it on the night (based on public voting).
Assuming it will be one artist from each team.
From the auditions contestants chosen numbered 49, the full team names and several clips appear below. Now we drop to 20 after this round.
FOR THE PLAYOFFS
“The next round of The Voice is The Play-Offs, where each Coach pairs their artists into four groups of two.
This time around, the duos sing a different song each, showing off their skills. The Coach selects a winner and the unsuccessful artists have to wait until the end of Play-Offs to learn who will score the coveted Wildcards.
The Coaches have one Wildcard each and they can only be used to save an artist from their own team.
At the end of the Play-Offs, each team has five artists, with a total of 20 artists left in the competition.”

Consequently, five on each team will be reduced to two on each team…three will be eliminated per team.

Old and young, sweet and strong, patriotic, and charming, this playoff was memorable for many reasons. Well done to both. Keep up the good work Emmagen! Steve is a classic.

Another memorable playoff this season…loved George’s song choices for both, Virginia finally showcased her softer side…more appealing than the 90’s rock chick personality we have seen to date. As for Sapphire, you have the most memorable tones and control gifts, as George said to find your lane! (paraphrasing). You are awesome and have many new fans.

The Voice coach reveals a time when she was ‘rich broke’ and struggling to keep up.
A contestant on The Voice did not react well after being eliminated from the competition, telling the coaches that she “didn’t really want to come on the show in the first place”.
Soma Sutton and Stephanie Cole competed against each other in a playoff with only one being picked by Guy Sebastian to go through to the next round.
Soma, who before her performance said she struggles with anxiety due to “traumatic experiences” in her past, lost the playoff and was cut from the competition.
“Soma, I feel like I’ve unlocked something that you need to work on but you need time to work on it,” Guy said to her. “But I just don’t think this particular time in your life on this particular show is right for you right now.”
Whereas most eliminated contestants thank the coaches and leave the stage, a visibly upset Soma hit back.
“OK, well, the thing about that is that I didn’t really want to come on the show in the first place,” she said to the coaches. “I was convinced to come here, to be here, to stand here and do this in front of you. And, like, it is disheartening.”
She continued: “Your advice that you guys all give, it’s like, is that genuine? I would just like to know, you know, what…

Both Jesse and Stellar’s performances were so emotional. I’m happy for Jesse going through but Stellar does have something special.
For the record…Ever wondered about the length of each actual vocal? For example, Stella’s actual singing approx 1:16 vs 0:58 seconds for Jesse.
Seems reasonable…for a song playoff series…then spend 4 minutes providing a critique, result and after result pandering…Total 6 mins 43 seconds on the clock.
These are honest and sincere questions.
- Are fans deserving better from these producers?
- What about the singers?
For years this has become the norm on this type of show, the celebrities gain all the attention and the contestants are the commodities. What do you say?

so it leaves Steve vs Emmagen (what for me is a little bit awkward but maybe she wants to put the youngest and the oldest artists ever on the voice together.
#TeamGuy Adam vs Josh. So if Elyse is brought back probably someone from Guy’s team could not take part in Playoffs. The only person from his team who is not shown on The trailers is Stephanie, so I assume that she will be replaced by Elyse.
In general, I would add that several states in Australia have/had shut their borders (now reopened them) due to COVID-19 and this may have affected the artists/contestants to continue with the show. Production is in Sydney, NSW and accordingly, may see a shorter season.
