Team Guy Sebastian

Jordan ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ by Foreigner shared he lost his nana two nights ago (when recorded) she was the last one. Emotional state of mind and presence. Guy wants heart from him telling the story and a tribute to his nana. Vulnerable honest performance, the feeling, kept it together and sensed the battle during this performance.

Cassidy took on her coach scooting around prior to the mentoring. She was given ‘I Love You Always Forever’ by Betty Who. He wants for her to relax and step away from the piano safety prop. She definitely cut loose for this performance and showcased her range! Jess talked about her development, Rita called it for coming out of her comfort zone. Guy wanted her to let go!

RESULT – Guy had to chose between Jordan and Cassidy claimed he was proud of their journey. He decided on Jordan. Good luck Cassidy sorry we did not get to know you better with a longer time given by the producers.

Team Keith

Thando – ‘POV’ by Ariana Grande 4 chair turner talked about her artistry and mum mindset. She has to harness her inner self and surprised by the song choice. The lyrics meanings hit her from her childs perspective and Keith believes she will be hard to beat. Her pitch perfect rendition moved the audience and all the coaches out of their chairs. She smashed it! An epic performance claimed Rita. Keith called it a breakthrough moment and inspired him. Again she has to explain her want to reach the final to Keith and the audience.

Lane – ‘Father and Son’ by Cat Stevens. He is 15 years of age (at the time of recording) and a storyteller. His dad passed away five years ago and wears his belt buckle. Keith revealed his tatoo relationship to his father. The heart of these lyrics and story…very relatable to most of us. Lane nailed it with his sensitivity for the audience and coaches. Guy called him a good bloke and created magic. Jess is a huge fan and talked about his vulnerability. Keith called him leaning into his authenticity.

RESULT – Keith faced both Lane and Thando to explain his decision compared and contrasted them both. He congratulated both of them and took Thando through to the finale. Hard luck Lane and he talked about his journey thankful! Well spoken young man! Keith encouraged him.

Team Rita

Xanthe – abcdefu by GAYLE. Xanthe is shown disagreeing with the song choice by Rita in the video preview. Rita called her individually a firecracker, and loves this song. Lets trust each other asked Rita. This is it and she knows it! At 17 years of age she has an audience…watch the performance and you decide. Forget You! She claimed to bring herself to the stage. Guy called it by trusting and owning it. Rita called her uniquiness and storytelling as her strength. Xanthe wants more time to showcase her other singing skills.

Lachie ‘Deja vu’. He did not get drafted into Australian Football League, Rita took on handling the ball. He wanted to put his own spin on the song because he isnt female like the original vocal. Singing is his game now. Again you can judge this performance yourself. Rita was as happy with the performance as was Jess. Respectfully sexy is his new album title according to Guy.

Result – Rita chose Lachie over Xanthe. Good luck Xanthe and your future.

Team Jess

Jael ‘Don’t Start Now’ Dua Lipa, her reaction to the song needed some encouragement from Jess. She talked about light and colour, shortening things in the song to show her vocal skills.
