Avery Dixon Wikipedia Bio Avery is the recipient of the Gospel Choice Award for Best Gospel Instrumentalist. The saxophonist usually performs Gospel, Jazz, R&B, and Classical genres. Despite his voice, asthma, and other medical complications, the saxist has beaten all odds by playing the saxophone.
Avery Dixon’s audition in Episode 1701 consisted of playing Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness” on the saxophone. Simon Cowell started the voting with a yes. However, extremely moved by his performance, Terry Crews pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending Avery directly to the Semifinals.
Avery was born weighing only 1lb 8 oz. Despite his medical complications, he beats all odds by playing the saxophone. His Great-grandfather was the extraordinary Maxwell Davis who worked for many years in Los Angeles, California as a tenor saxophone player, producer, arranger composer, songwriter, and band leader.
