Here is a new video featuring how one human is looking after koalas in Australia. Australia A Day in the Life of a Koala Carer video.
Aside from the video, you will find links to various sources to help educate about the current path of koalas in Australia.
Unfortunately, man has dominated their natural resources on the east coast of the country reducing the population to a new dangerous level.
The scientific term ‘functionally extinct’ is a definite warning that koalas could become extinct.
Let’s hope that the good works of people like Sam Longman, and others go well.
This video originates from the national broadcaster – Australia’s ABC Network. Source credit and links provided.
Caring for koalas may seem like a dream job, but it’s also a lot of work.
Jimboomba’s Sam Longman spends about six hours a day, on top of her paid work, caring for koalas who have all been rescued from the surrounding areas.
It is a tireless job, and although it does involve a lot of cuddles, after 10 years there’s been more heartbreak than happy endings for the veteran carer.
